Front view

Confirm the corner and edge form a connected 1×2 pair, their side colors match and the pair belongs in the front-right slot.

Right · 90°

Right view

From the target side, the matching side stickers should form one continuous color block. This is the safest angle for verifying the pair is connected correctly.

Back · 180°

Back view

Use center colors to identify whether the same pair can be inserted into a back slot without a y rotation.

Left view

The mirrored left-slot version should look structurally identical, with L moves replacing R moves and U direction reversed.

Execute as one controlled phrase

  1. Begin in home grip and use the index finger that preserves the right hand for R.
  2. Move the pair over the target slot with U without separating it.
  3. Open the slot with R, restore U prime and close with R prime as one four-move phrase.
  4. Move your eyes away from the pair during the final R prime and locate the next corner or edge.

Common mistakes

What usually breaks the case

  • Inserting a connected pair whose side colors do not match the target centers.
  • Rotating the cube even though a left or back-slot mirror is available.
  • Watching the pair all the way into the slot and creating a search pause afterward.
  • Using the wrong U direction and moving the pair away from the target slot.
