Front view

Look for one solved 1×3 bar and the opposite headlights. The remaining adjacent corner-edge pair is the swap that gives the case its T-perm identity.

Right · 90°

Right view

From the side, confirm the solved bar wraps correctly and that the opposite face has matching corner stickers rather than a second complete bar.

Back · 180°

Back view

The solved bar is easiest here when it sits behind. Practice recognizing the opposite headlights without turning the cube around first.

Left · -90°

Left view

Use color opposites to confirm the adjacent swap. This prevents confusion with Jb when only one visible block is considered.

T-perm is self-inverse, so the setup and solution share the same move structure. Apply the setup to solved and add a random U rotation for recognition training.

Finger tricks

Execute as one controlled phrase

  1. Start with R U R' U' in home grip; keep the right thumb on the front.
  2. Use R' F as a connected transition, then execute R2 with controlled wrist alignment.
  3. Continue U' R' U' R U R' with alternating U flicks and no mid-algorithm regrip.
  4. Finish F' and predict AUF before the final face settles.

Common mistakes

What usually breaks the case

  • Confusing T-perm with Jb-perm when the solved bar is viewed from the wrong side.
  • Losing the R-prime to F transition and starting the R2 from an unstable grip.
  • Pausing after R2 because the second half was memorized as a separate algorithm.
  • Stopping after the permutation without including final AUF in full-solve practice.
